The Election: A Spiritual Psychology Perspective

It’s the day after elections and one thing’s for sure—not everyone’s candidate of choice got elected.

From the perspective of the Spiritual Context, who got elected is not the issue. Simply stated, the real issue for anyone committed to a life of Awakening is “How will you relate to the outcome of the election and to what unfolds?”

trees-light-rays-road_web1.jpgAre you experiencing “I am upset because . . .”? If so, we encourage you in using your skills to support yourself: Free-Form Writing, Compassionate Self-Forgiveness of judgments, Owning and Accepting the Projection, Reframing Issues as Blessings, etc. And most of all, we support you in remembering that your Essential Nature is Loving. You have a choice. You can respond with Wisdom and discernment, or you can respond with reactivity/negativity running preconceptions of how things “should” be.

If you choose to look for the learning, then the opportunity becomes moving into Acceptance—this is what is—and looking for the opportunities for learning and for serving. In our book Loyalty to Your Soul, one of the chapters is titled, “Light Bearers Everywhere.” This time provides an opportunity for each and every one of us to hold a positive, Loving focus—to serve as a Light Bearer.

Moreover, we who study at USM are aware that the Stackers are watching very closely. And your choice determines the degree to which they respond with “Stack up 10” or “Take off 10.”

Our wish for all of us is that we make the most of this “golden opportunity” by standing tall in our Authentic Selves, our Loving Essence, and sharing our Light. Let’s walk the talk by moving within. Let our prayer be, “Lord, thy will be done.” Let’s be a force for Love by settling in Rumi’s field where everyone present has already elected Love as their President.

With Love and Light,

Ron and Mary

I’ll meet you there.” — Rumi
